Biography

Cavaliere Salvatore Carmine Puglia, a South African-Italian, matriculated from St Charles College in 1979 before earning his Bachelor of Social Science degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. After completing his military service as a First-Class Lieutenant specialising in weapons, Salvatore returned to university to complete his LLB.

Salvatore has also undertaken extensive work for the Italian Government and, on 9 December 2020, was awarded the Ordine Della Stella d’Italia (a Knighthood) for his service.

Beyond his legal achievements, Salvatore is a dedicated athlete with an extraordinary list of accomplishments, including 11 Comrades Marathons, 20 Two Oceans Ultra Marathons, completing the IRONMAN® Triathlons on six continents, running marathons on all seven continents, 23 Cape Town Cycle Tours (Argus), three PUFfers (Peninsula Ultra Fun Run) completions, and five Three Peaks Challenges.

Biography

Originally from the Eastern Cape, Jessica Ann Canter graduated with her LLB from Stellenbosch University in 2021. After completing her articles in Stellenbosch, she was admitted as a solicitor in March 2024. Jessica is a general practitioner with a special interest in human rights litigation, focusing on women’s rights and LGBTQIA+ advocacy.ng she does.

Jessica is known for her thorough, compassionate approach to each case and is deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of her clients. She remains actively informed of developments in human rights law to ensure her advocacy is both effective and current.

Beyond her legal work, Jessica draws on the discipline and resilience gained from a 17-year swimming career, during which she competed nationally for over a decade. She is also an avid equestrian and passionate photographer—interests that reflect her connection to nature and eye for detail.

Basie Potgieter earned his BA LLB from Stellenbosch University in 1994 and qualified as an attorney, notary, and conveyancer in 1996.

With decades of experience, Basie Potgieter is a seasoned conveyancer and notary, providing an expert service in estate administration.

His meticulous approach and extensive knowledge ensure that clients receive expert guidance on property transactions, notarial agreements, and estate matters.

Nashley Appolis has been an integral part of the SP Law team since 2006, serving as the firm’s secretary, messenger and office manager. Over nearly two decades, Nashley’s role has evolved, demonstrating her adaptability and dedication to the firm.
